  • sound sync in subframes in CS3 for multi cam edit?

Posted by Nelson May on August 28, 2008 at 3:29 pm

I have an A and B camera; a 100b and and FVX200. The HVX was on a boom mic and the 100b had the on board mics. I used a slate for sound sync, but I am off within the frame (one frame). I can’t nudge the sound file so that both of the peaks match up. One is in the first third of a frame (cam A) and the other is in the second third of a frame (cam B).

Is there any way to go into a subframe or is there a subframe option in CS3? I am getting drift on the multi cam edit and I want to try and fix it, but I am out of options.

BTW, I went to tape on both cameras and logged from there.

    Any Suggestions?

Yes! Open the wing menu at the upper right corner of the timeline and choose “Show Audio time units”.

One more thing – UNLINK the audio from the video clip, else you won’t be able to nudge it independently of the video to sync with other audio clip.
