    Hello,

I wanted to make a collage on screen. I freeze framed the five images I wanted and then I scaled them down and then key framed them to start off screen and take their positions. They look fine when I play them in CS3 but when I look at two of the five after I’ve burned them using Nero Vision, I’m seeing double. The first image starts in the top left like I planned and goes diagonally to the bottom right twice. The first time the image is more transparent than the second one. The other image which starts in the bottom right and goes to the centre of the screen shows a quick almost transparent image at the bottom right corner then it disappears and then the image starts again and goes to the centre but as if in two blurry layers. The end picture in blurry.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thank you in advance for your response.
I hope my question is clear.

    How long is your movie?
Did you do the encoding in CS3 or Encore or Nero? What bitrate? Did you author it in Encore? Does it play smoothly in Encore?

My guess is you have reversed fields. What are your project settings?

    Hi Mike,

My film is 3mins 25secs. I encoded in CS3. The video bitrate is 24. I didn’t author it. I haven’t tried playing it in Encore but when I play it in Nero, the first image is okay but the second image acts up.

[Carla Cameron] “The video bitrate is 24”

24 is an invalid value. Try 7 mbps. who iis authoring on what app…are they recompressing the video?

[Carla Cameron] “image starts again and goes to the centre but as if in two blurry layers.”
From your original description, I would repeat:
It is a field issue. If you are doing a still collage, do it in Photoshop.

    just my $.02

    Thanks Jeff.

Will that work even if I am freezing a frame from a moving image? The reason I ask is that I froze a frame and saved it as bitmap and then opened it in photoshop and the image was blurry ( actually, it had lines in it, as if I captured the person as they were moving).

You are seeing fields. That is normal:
