Try putting clip 1 in Video 2 and clip 2 in video 1, apply the transition to the end of clip 1 overhanging the beginning of clip 2.

Neither CS3 nor CS4 can use your S/Video out, but Windows can send the entire monitor out to a TV. This is done in Display Properties>Settings. The picture is typically poor.
The 1394 output is designed for editing and sends only the Program Monitor out to TV. -
Try the Edge Feather effect.

You can create your template in Premiere’s titler including using a logo. Just create one title and save it as a template.

I had a similar issue with CS4 and XP 32. If Premiere’s focus is lost the app locks up when returning. Premiere would then re-conform the audio into the same folder that was previously done, appending a -1, -2 to the file name.
I finally fixed both issues by deselecting “Write XMP ID to files on import” AND “Enable clip and XMP Metadata Linking” in Preferences>Media.

Time Remapping is the effect. It is applied by default with no value changes. It is all done in the timeline. Read the Help file for details.

Your audio is stereo, but with only one channel. Once in the timeline you can duplicate the one channel with the “Fill Left” (or right) Audio Effect.

Try this;
Put your first clip in Video 2 and a duplicate of it in Video 1 just below the first. Put your second clip in Video 1 at the end of the first clip. Apply a dissolve at the end of the first clip in video 2 and then your wipe between the 2 clips in Video 1. -
Not exactly, but you can preview in a Draft mode…click the Output button in the Program window.

More likely the format is not supported by Premiere. Download GSpot (free) and analyze the properties of the codec. Best bet might be to convert the video to a more common format.
Premiere Elements might also be able to edit it.
