I’m editing HDV footage in Premiere Pro CS3 and any time I navigate away from the main window and come back, I see the loading icon from my mouse come on and nothing is clickable and its almost as though the program has become unresponsive.

However, after 6 seconds or so, the program becomes responsive again. This is a bit annoying and what could possibly be causing this to happen.

I had a similar issue with CS4 and XP 32. If Premiere’s focus is lost the app locks up when returning. Premiere would then re-conform the audio into the same folder that was previously done, appending a -1, -2 to the file name.

I finally fixed both issues by deselecting “Write XMP ID to files on import” AND “Enable clip and XMP Metadata Linking” in Preferences>Media.

Didn’t see those options in CS3 when I just checked. But thanks anyway.

If anyone has any more solutions, please let me know. This is very annoying and makes me want to go back to vista 64bit (I went to Vista 32bit because my deck/camera captures on it and had to dual boot Vista 32bit just for that sole purpose)
