Try cleaning the Media Cache Database;
Edit>preferences>Media>CleanAlso delete Premiere’s preference file;
C:\Documents and Settings\mike\Application Data\Adobe\Premiere Pro\4.0\Adobe premiere Pro Prefs -
“Playback Settings” allow you to choose between Desktop Audio and 1394. Access this via the small round button on the lower right of the Program window.

Masks in AE can be feathered.
Track Mattes created in Photoshop can have feathered edges and used in Premiere. -

well yes!
Start with a crawl…enter lots of text and note the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen. It is used to review things like spelling. Next go to Roll/Crawl Options and choose “Start off Screen” and “End of Screen”.
Once on the timeline, stretch the duration of the title way out and preview it.

They are 3 different animals….a still is …well still. A tornado warning crawls along the bottom of the screen and movie credits roll up the screen.

Often pictures can muck things up, especially large resolution Jpegs with lots of meta data. Try resizing (in photoshop) your stills to match your project resolution and save as Bitmaps.

Your source video is likely larger in resolution than your Sequence setting and does not fit into the Program window.
One solution would be to right/click on the video in the timeline and choose “Scale to frame size”.
A better solution would be to set your Sequence settings to match your source video.
Use Premiere (File>Get Properties for…) to determine the Properties of your source video and let us know. -
need a lot more info;
1. The properties of your video clips…what is their source?
2. Your system specs including drive configuration.Can you see images in the Source or Program monitors?

Getting any quality benefit from using Squeeze is going to involve exporting an intermediate file from Premiere that is loseless like Microsoft Uncompressed or QT Animation. Either will be huge files for a DVD, like hundreds of gigs, but for Blu-ray the file sizes will be…well my calculator doesnt go that high!
If you are looking for a step up from AME, look at Main Concept HD plug-in for Premiere CS4. I used the version for CS3 and it worked great and much faster than AME. -
AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) is a H264 codec. You might look at Cineform’s Neo Scene to convert your files to an easily editable codec…the file size will increase by a factor of 10!.
