If you cannot see video from premiere playing in your camaera’s LCD, then you may have a setting in the camcorders menu for DV-IN.
Can you capture video with Premiere? -
I am running 7.0.3 and have no issues with Pro importing QT files.

Premiere leaves enough processing power for multitasking during rendering!

I was under the assumption that Windows can only see 2 GB RAM, but obviously am wrong. The CPU utilization is the same with P4 HT PC’s. If I export from the timeline using Procoder the CPU use is about 55%, but as a stand alone app Procoder will use 90%.

Try a System Restore to a date that you could import QT files.

Yhe process is not intuitive. Double click the original .ptrl from the Project Window, not the timeline and then do a “save as”, make your changes and drag the new file to the timeline.

The Auto Color feature works fine on stills, but unless your scene is locked down with no movement, the frame to frame application will vary causing flickering of the luminance…suggest previewing the entire rendered clip and not assuming it all looks fine.
I use the Levels effect instead. -
The audio is probably Dolby and not editable.
Best solution for editing DVD footage is to use an analog/digital converter to capture the video and audio as digital. ADS Pyro A/V Link for less than $200 will work fine. -
You are correct in what Pro does…adds 15 ( on a 1 sec trans) frames to the out point of the first clip and 15 to the in point of the second clip. In a perfect world, the editor makes the decision to add a transition while cutting the clips in the source window and then cuts it appropriatly, knowing what the “extra” frames are.

Video has precious few pixels to begin with, zooming in makes them quite visible. You could export the zoomed portion as a series of tiff stills and then in Photoshop use a paint brush to smooth the jagged edges on every frame…quite tedious.
