What version of Premiere?

As I recall there was a workaround for 1.5. Rename Premiere’s executable in the program folder to anything else like Premiere 2.0.exe and then create a new shortcut. -
300 W PSU is too puny…400-450 I recommend.
I prefer Intel over AMD, experience has shown too many niggling issues with AMD for video editing.
You dont need an expensive video card or TV out, but recommend dual monitors or 1 wide screen. 128 MB Nvidia is adequate.
You will want a lot more hard drive…add a 400 GB for video files.
1GB RAM is fine excpet for long projects or HDV…2GB works better.
Premiere wont work on a MAC. -

How long are your sequences?
Have you updated to 1.51?
Any error messages? -
One you have the transition applied, select it in the timeline and open the Effects Controls window…set the alignment as “Center at Cut”.

Cineform 4.0 for Pro 2.0 lists “Aspect HD 720X576 50P” as a PAL Project setting with a PAR of 1.422

Vincent is on target. Clipped audio often sounds fine when previewed from Pro, but awfull when played in the clients player.

Pro 2.0 can do menus and create DVDs.
Step 1 is to set DVD markers in the timeline.
Step 2 is to go to Windows (menu bar) and choose DVD layout.
Jacob Rosenburg does a great tut on the DVD that came bundled with Pro. -
I have seen this issue and it is always associated with an attached DV device that also is not functioning correctly with Pro, like a DV camera with no signal to its LCD from Pro. I have also seen the Program Monitor freeze a video frame while the timeline is playing.
Shutting down Pro with these issues seems to cause it’s GUI to go away but it is still running as a process.
Shutting down the device first seems to fix it.
When the external device fails to get a video signal from Pro, I go into playback settings and even though the Export setting is correct, I click the drop down menu and reselect the DV device and about 3 seconds later all is well…strange. -
Premiere handles .wmv files fine, although very slow it import at times. Does Windows Media Player play the video fine?
