The slave/master relationship for hard drives should be a thing of the past. Drives should be configured (jumpers) to Cable Select and of course be connected with 80 wire cables. Best approach is to have the system drive and a DVD ROM on the primary channel and one or two drives on the secondary.
The thing that sticks out in your post is Norton…it is evil. Get a priest and get rid of it!

The Mono clips can only go into Mono tracks, hence 3 and 4.

Another alternative;
click on the .avi in the Project window and then go to Clip (menu bar)> Audio Options>Break out to monoThis creates 2 new mono clips in the source window to replace the audio track in the timeline.

2.0 has the Three Way color corrector which is similar to the old HSL Corrector in 1.5. 2.0 also has the Fast Color Corrector. Both in the Color Correction folder.

IN PS 8 or 9, do you have “Maximize compatibility” turned on? (Preferences>File Handling>File Compatibility)
Also try exporting as a .tiff (select Save Transparency” In the TIFF options box.) -
Click on the wing menu in the upper right corner of the timeline and choose “Audio Units”.

Quality begins with the scan. In the scanner settings choose 200 DPI for most photos, maybe 300 for tiny pics.

Welcome to the world of NTSC and fields. Each frame of video consists of 2 fields of horizontal lines interlaced to create one frame. Computer monitors dont display fields well like TV sets. What your seeing is normal…dont take my word for it as you should be previewing on a TV set, not Premiere’s Program monitor.

Any ordinary OHCI firewire card should work fine for data transfer from DV tape. For analog to DV conversion most folks use their camcorders to pass thru an analog signal and convert it to DV. Others use converters like the Canopus ADVC 100 or Pyro AV Link to convert to DV.
The AJA thingy is for true capture and editing of uncompressed analog from big boys camcorders. -
The camera needs to be in the DV mode (external switch) and capture to a “DV -NTSC (or PAL) Standard 48khz” project (not HDV).
