I’m having a heck of a time with a PSD document on my time line… I put it on video layer 2 … it has transparancy and I imported just the layer.

Well, when I put it on my timeline and then go to the timeline and want to move it from video track 3 to 2 or something I get. ” Premiere Pro Has encountered a serious error and needs to close”

Of course I let it. Then when I try to re-open the file I can’t even open premiere pro. So then I do the ctrl + alt + del and look in the task manager. It seems that both PPro and PSCS2 are just hanging so I try the end process… well… that doesn’t work.

On reboot they will both open but when I try moving the PS file on the PPro timeline the same thing happens. I installed the PSCS2 9.02 updater hoping that would help, but no way.

If anyone has any ideas on this that would be awesome. My machine specs are in the profile.

    cheers,

IN PS 8 or 9, do you have “Maximize compatibility” turned on? (Preferences>File Handling>File Compatibility)
Also try exporting as a .tiff (select Save Transparency” In the TIFF options box.)

Thanks for the quick response but I do have maximize compatiblility on and I also tried the .tiff thing.. still the same problem… I’m now going to go in and look for the prefs file and delete that thing.. is that still around?

    Then I might try a reinstall…

it seems that the premiere application and something called the photoshop server were hanging and not closing… weird.
