Sort by Install On date, remove anything that updated just before you started having problems. Turn off Windows Auto Update for the moment.
Get a free copy of CCleaner.com, run the normal Cleaner and then the Registry cleaner.
Check to see if any drivers (ie. video) have been updated or changed.
Good Luck,

February 8, 2013 at 9:25 pm in reply to: MP4 Encoding problems with new graphics card nvidia geforce 210I have seen this problem in Windows Media Player before where turning off ‘DirectX Video Acceleration’ has resolved the flickering. But since you are seeing this in Vegas it might be a driver issue.
Try updating your video driver directly from the Nvidia website.

February 8, 2013 at 6:59 pm in reply to: SVP 12 Claims Plug-Ins are not Registered when disconnected from networkPlease let us know how the Waves plugins are working. I have been looking at getting Waves v9 w/64-bit support for V12 (still troubleshooting other V12 issues, so I am a little wary).
I am currently been doing all my audio work in Sound Forge 10 Pro with Waves v5 32-bit plugins.

There are problems with Waves plugins that are fixable (preference change or Vegas reinstall for missing plugins) and Sony AVC renders over 4GB with some settings.
Good Luck.

I have both Vegas 11 (32-bit) and Vegas 12 (64-bit) installed on my system.

At this point, I will not even try starting a project in V12.
I built a new Win7Pro rig just for the new 64-bit V12 (i7-3770k CPU, GTX 560 GPU, 16 GB memory, 240 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD, 2 TB HDD). And the first time I tried it the program crashed, and it never stopped failing in multiple ways. The computer at the time only had Vegas 12 on it with latest build and all the current hardware drivers.
I have been running 32-bit version of V11 on the new rig with no major issues.
This is strictly a Vegas 12 problem, not your system. I know it might be months before Sony corrects these problems, so I am just going to wait it out for now…
