  • SVP 12 Claims Plug-Ins are not Registered when disconnected from network

In order to help prevent any memory problems during rendering (and we know that SVP 12 crashes as much as some people wash their hands), I first disconnected from my home network and the internet (via network and sharing center). I also was planning on exiting my antivirus software. Well, when I ran SVP 12, as it was loading I got a requestor box that two of my WAVES VST plug-ins (NS1 Mono and One Knob Louder Mono) were not registered, and it locked up SVP 12 despite my acknowledging the warning. Now of course these two are registered!! My action was to run SVP 12 and wait until my complex 2 hour wedding video loaded (about 2 minutes to load), then I MANUALLY pulled the network plug (disconnected the ethernet cable from my router) and exited my antivirus program–NO PROBLEMS!! I then instructed SVP 12 to render to Sony AC3 audio–NO PROBLEMS!! Finally, I set to render the video for Blu-Ray (Sony AVC, 24mBPS 1920X1080), instructing it to use my CPU exclusively (my GTX 560 also is out of the loop under preferences). So far, so good (4 hours, 35 minutes rendering time as of now, with 8 hours 30 minutes left to go)–WISH ME LUCK. On a side note, 37% into rendering this video last night to Sony MTS files (combining video and audio, as I have another DVD authoring program that I wanted to try) when I DID NOT disconnect from the network or end my antivirus program, SVP 12 froze at 37%. I am at 35% into the current render so…I will follow up. In the meantime, does anyone have any ideas about the waves plug-ins or why my PC froze on its render last night? Thank you in advance.

Check section 3.0 https://dspcdn.sonycreativesoftware.com/releasenotes/vegaspro12.0.486_readme_enu.htm for known issues.

There are problems with Waves plugins that are fixable (preference change or Vegas reinstall for missing plugins) and Sony AVC renders over 4GB with some settings.

    Good Luck.

That would explain a number of things–THANKS. I now have unchecked the track buffering option, and we will see… With respect to the 4GB AVC issue, I have switched to using a Main Concept MPEG-2 template, and this seems to work a lot better, save for the fact that I still am rendering in segments rather than the whole 2 hour project. I will continue to experiment and report back any significant findings, if anything occurs differently.

Please let us know how the Waves plugins are working. I have been looking at getting Waves v9 w/64-bit support for V12 (still troubleshooting other V12 issues, so I am a little wary).

I am currently been doing all my audio work in Sound Forge 10 Pro with Waves v5 32-bit plugins.
