Mike, the GH2 is the best dslr out there right now in my opinion. You can’t go wrong with it. Not sure about your specific question though. A friend of mine was experimenting with using an iPad to record from his GH2 externally. Don’t know if he worked the bugs out though. I can ask him if you want.

For a different reason my GH2 will be for sale soon along with some Nikon 2.8 lens and extras. It’s in mint condition. Contact me if interested or if you just want to talk about GH2’s.

I upgraded for one reason: version 10 allows you to add fx to individual audio clips the same as you can do with the video clips. No more creating a whole new track just to place fx on one clip.

I just downloaded the free trial for Saphire Edge. I’ve been using Vegas for a number of years but I’ve not even touched the compositing stuff yet.

So you’re saying that Boris is more of a compositing software similiar to After Effects? Saphire seems to be mostly color and transition effects but I’m in need of those sorts of tools too which is why I downloaded it.

Thanks for the info Steve. I’m reading up on these programs now. So…are you familiar with all of the softwares that you can give me a sort of “pros/cons” list for all of them? Which of these programs are you using?

Yes, it’s just one acoustic guitar. I only have a Rode ntg-3 shotgun mic available for the shoot. I’ll just try to find the sweet spot and ask him not to play too loud…and we’ll see what happens. Thanks for your tips!

Steven-I’ve already tried that…and a dozen other options as well.
Matt-Thanks for the info. I did the same thing several yrs ago with Vegas 9 and some 60p MXF files and I didn’t have to change anything to get the slow motion. Seems wrong changing the playback rate but if that’s what I gotta’ do…

Thanks again! Preparing the shoot and edit my second feature with Vegas!

I should add that I’m aware that I can go into the video clip’s properties and change the “playback rate” to slow it down…but why should I have to do that if I already have 60fps footage on a 24fps timeline??

When I had Vegas 9 several years ago numberous times I imported 60fps footage onto my 24p timeline and it played just fine.

Thank you Bill. That’s the kind of explanation I was needing to hear.
