John, make sure you download and install the 64 bit version. Odds are that you still have the 32 bit version which won’t work in Pro 11.

No problem Roger. Going to a camera like this with all the features and settings can be somewhat overwhelming at first.

Vegas will only import non commercial DVDs. Anything that is encrypted/protected will not work.

Roger, unless I’m mistaken the EX-3 will have a zebra option (it’s a viewfinder display) that can be turned on and off. Most pro cameras have this and will let you set it to a variety of levels. My JVC HM-750 lets me change mine from 70% to 100%. I have it set to 70%. I adjust my iris so that the zebras start showing on a person’s face and then go up another 1/2 stop. Every camera will be different so you’ll need to do some test shooting and see how yours acts under different situations.
BTW, unless I have no choice (for example, run and gun situation) I always shoot in manual iris mode.

Richard, check out the DIY section on the Videoguys web site for their latest machine build.They give you a number of options to build a machine that would fly when using Vegas. One caution is to make sure you get the right video card. John Rofrano on here uses a Quadro 4000 instead of GTX 500 series card. Check his site for his machine specs.

Gilles, you can do a bulk rename of all your files en masse in Windows Explorer or by using a free tool like IrfanView. Then, if you have Excalibur, there’s a tool (the name escapes me right now) to display all the file names on screen as if you titled each one. Render that out for your assistant.
