DVC is indeed short for Digital Video Cassette.
In other words, it’s the same miniDV tape with “new and improved” packaging 🙂 -

Not that I’m aware of.
However, you can create all the custom render presets you want in Vegas and then use the Batch render script so you don’t have to sit around waiting for one to finish before you start the next one. -
There are two ways of doing this.
#1 is to click the Ignore Event Grouping (Ctrl + Shift + U) icon on the toolbar.
#2 is Options- Preferences – Editing and deselect Cut, copy and delete grouped events. -
Markers in Vegas become chapter points in DVD Architect.
You can also add chapter points in DVDA itself.
What DVD authoring software do you use?
You”ll need to look at it and see how it creates chapter points. -

I did a search of “DVCPro HD” on the Sony Vegas forum and came up with the following that may be helpful.
Take a look at the products from DVFilm, specifically Raylight & Raylight Decoder.
Demo versions of each are available.

I have no reason to think that it didn’t do that.
Perhaps using the 2-pass option…
I’ll do a few more renders tonight trying the various options you suggested and post the results here.

That happens to me sometimes too. I’m sure there’s a reason but I’ve never been able to figure out why 🙂
When that happens, I can usually get the markers by clicking the Load Markers icon in DVDA. If that still doesn’t work, then it’s time to add them manually 🙁…and it was also 3.99 gigs so it says.. DVD Arch. said it was well over 4.7″
As long as you know that what you’re feeding DVDA is under the limit, ignore any warnings that the file is too large.
DVDA has a long history of incorrectly reporting file sizes. -
That’s just the pixel aspect ratio and wouldn’t have any effect on your audio issues.
The one thing you haven’t done is defined your “slight audio sync problem”.
Where and when (on the timeline) is it happening?
Does it get progressively worse?
