DV AVI is about 13.5 GB/hr. so that sounds right to me.
If you plan to make a DVD from it, you need to encode it to MPEG-2 & AC-3 streams.

As long as there’s nothing under the image, the background is black by default.
If you need to, place a section of solid color black on the timline and then place the image on a new track over top of this.

The link that the forum page takes you to, has been expired since July.

YouSendIt only keeps files for a week which is why it’s no longer there.
The original developer didn’t have web space to be able to host the script which is why it’s on the page that it is.
As far as using it, I can’t help you there as I’ve never used it.
If you read the thread on the Sony forum, you’ll see that a lot of folks have used it quite successfully.
Maybe someone else here has tried it and can offer suggestions.

I downloaded the 1.76 version of Virtual Dub.

You didn’t need to do that as everything (Deshaker 2.0, scripts, VirtualDub) is included in the install package.
That’s why the page that I linked to has the link to the original forum thread.
It covers most, if not all, of the problems that you might run into.
