    Hello All,
Is it safe to work in Vegas at the same time as using Vegas to capture video or render? I’m using Vegas 7 on an AMD 64 Athlon dual processor machine.

    Thanks
    Dave P.

Render, yes. Capturing, you’d have to test to see if your machine has any issues with that. Theoretically, no but depends on your machine.

We do this fairly regularly, but bear in mind that if your system resources aren’t up to par, then capturing while editing or rendering will be out of the question.
Rendering and editing at the same time is easy/common

Can you render more than one job at a time?

    Thanks for the respones.

In theory yes, but, as Edward said above “it depends on your machine”.
Why not try it and see for yourself?
Then you’ll know if it’s possible or not.

Maybe the key point you need to know is that to get multiple renders going you need to open vegas multiple times. Then each one can be rendering while you edit in yet another instance of Vegas.

Thanks for the info. I was aware that Vegas could be opened multiple times, but was just not sure how much background activity I could get away with. I will do as you suggest and run some tests.

    Happy Thanksgiving.
