If I’m understanding you correctly, you want to use the “hard light” flash as a transition and have it fade out at the same time.
Since you can’t layer FX together, this has to be a two track workaround.
Apply a standard fade (of the desired lenght to the clip.
Drag the “hard light” flash over top of the fade.
To have it fade out, insert a new video track above this, drop a Solid Color Black on it and set it to the same length as the fade you just did.
To have the flash FX fade out, do a fade in on the black clip. -
Bob, I know how to do a PTT for an SD (720 x 480) project but, as I haven’t worked with HDV yet, my only siggestion is to see what the Vegas help file says about this procedure.
I had a quick look in the help file (for the full version of Vegas) and it has a separate section for doing an HDV print-to-tape. Have a look through it as it seemed to be a good guide. -
PTT = Print To Tape.
Sorry but, using Vegas, you have no choice in this.
You have to render the file first if you want to do a PTT. -
Note: the following steps are for the full version of Vegas.
Movie Studio may not have these options.Click either the audio or video event and press the U (for Ungroup) key.
Adjust as desired.
To regroup, select one, hold down the Shift key and select the other and then press the G (for Group) key.
There may also be a timeline icon labeled “Ignore Event Grouping” that does the same thing. -
See if this works for you.
Drop the 950 x 550 clip on the timeline.
Open the Pan/Crop window, right-click and select “Match Output Aspect”.
Now go to the Width box in the upper left corner of this same window and enter 873 as the new value. You should see the Height value change to 480 at the same time. -
Vegas started off at version 1.0 as a multi-track audio-only editor and I know folks who have produced commercial CDs using only Vegas so it can’t be blamed for poor audio.
What’s your definition of “bad audio”?
Too soft?
Too loud?
Too distorted?
A little more information would help us to help you get the most out of it. -
VidCap 6.0 works fine, but it doesn’t do HDV.
You have to switch back and forth from internal to external capture in the preferences (Options – Prefs – Video).
Doing this brings up the other capture window which will allow you to select HDV. -
