I have just upgraded to Vegas Pro 8. Everything works fine except one thing. I was at a shoot a couple days ago and trying to capture footage from the camera through firewire. Using videocapture60. I was unable to capture ANY footage. The software prompted me to insert a tape. I didnt want to capture from the tape, I wanted to capture from the camera. This feature worked fine with Vegas 7. Can someone please help?? I have contacted Sony with no response…:( and I def. dont want to downgrade.

    Thanks in advance,
    wb

    Options – Preferences – General.
Make sure Enable DV device control is NOT selected.

Thanks man, that worked. For some reason Videocapture 60 only captures DV and not HDV. I wonder what the deal with this is. I was able to capture HDV within Vegas though. Thanks again.

VidCap 6.0 works fine, but it doesn’t do HDV.
You have to switch back and forth from internal to external capture in the preferences (Options – Prefs – Video).
Doing this brings up the other capture window which will allow you to select HDV.
