I’ve done a few subtitled videos and it’s the DVD remote option as to whether you want to see them or not.
I put an advisory on the main screen that the video is subtitled and to use that feature on the DVD remote if you wish to see them. -
Just to clarify, make sure to set your project properties in both Vegas and DVDA to DV Widescreen.
Otherwise, yes, that’s it 🙂 -
File – Save as – *.veg.
Click the Copy media with project box.
The menu that comes up gives you several options for saving all project media. -
That is definitely not normal.
What’s your CPU speed?
Are you applying any FX to this clip – or anywhere else on the timeline?
Some (eg. Magic Bullet) are known to increase render times dramatically.
Also, make sure you didn’t accidentally drop the Track or Opacity levels below 100%. -

I got a quad core this spring and I love it!!
A 70 min. DV to MPEG-2 render (very few FX) takes a mere 27 min.
A project that was very heavy on the chroma key and other FX took 3 hr. on a P4 3.4 GHz machine. The quad core did it in 30 min. -
I can’t explain the technical reason as to why this happens but here’s the workaround.
Encode set to AC3 Pro;
Click on Custom tab;
On the first tab, set diag. norm to “-31”;
On the last tab marked Preprocessing, set the Line Mode Profile and RF Mode Profile mode to “none”;
Save this as a preset. -
Check to see if the “Render loop region only” box is selected when you go to render.
If it is, de-select it and try it again. -
First of all, a minor correction.
Transitions are typically applied to the overlap of two consecutive events.
To do this, drag event 2 over top of event 1 to create a dissolve (the default transition) between the two events.
Now drag the desired transition on top of this dissolve to see the effect.
To stop the Event FX window from coming up every time you do this, hold down the Shift key as you drag the transition over top of the overlap.
To apply a transition to the beginning or end of a single event, place the cursor at the start/end of the event and drag it forwards/backwards to create a fade in/out.
Now drag a transition over top of this fade. -

Most Mac users are using Boot Camp along with a copy of Windows XP.

Lots of folks have done this.
However, none that I’m aware of on an iMac.
The Boot Camp FAQ should clarify things.“f so, have there been any problems in registering Vegas 8?”
Nope. Register it like you normally would.

That’s correct. Sony stuck with the Sonic Foundry tradition of allowing this.

Is this being done using the pass-through feature of a miniDV camcorder?
Are you feeding it from the Y/C (aka SVHS) output if your camcorder to the Y/C input of your miniDV camcorder?
