Upgrading to Vegas Pro 8 – Apple
I currently run Vegas 4 on a PC; I have switched to an iMac and have installed VMFusion ware, which apparently lets Mac users create a virtual machine on their hard drive from which they can access XP Pro (in my case) and other PC software. (I haven’t actually used Fusion ware yet).
I want to upgrade to Vegas Pro 8. Has anyone upgraded using a Mac? If so, have there been any problems in registering Vegas 8? As I understand, you can upgrade to Pro 8 from ANY version of Vegas (according to the following link): [Am I correct in that assumption?}:

I don’t know if Vegas would run within a virtual machine, but my advice (and I think pretty much everybody else’s) would be to not run it that way, but instead install Windows XP (not Vista) in its own partition and run Vegas from there. Virtual machines are good for some software, but when it comes to computer intensive and especially software that uses DirectX a virtual machine is out of the question. You might be able to run it, but never as good as natively.

Most Mac users are using Boot Camp along with a copy of Windows XP.

Lots of folks have done this.
However, none that I’m aware of on an iMac.

Nope. Register it like you normally would.

That’s correct. Sony stuck with the Sonic Foundry tradition of allowing this.
