Sounds like you have “Render loop region only” selected and you have a small sliver selected on your timeline.

Where did the videos originally come from?
Camcorder, digital camera, off-air signal??? -
Remember to set the DVX’s internal clock after you do that.
It won’t solve your current problem as the time data wasn’t there to begin with but you’ll be OK in the future.
BTW, this applies to ALL miniDV camcorders. -

Just so you know, that’s not what Edward was asking.
Is the internal clock set?
If not, it may be time to replace the button-sized battery that’s responsible for this feature.
Timecode is derived from this internal clock.
The date/time display is a completely different issue. -

It’s also an icon in the Media Pool. -
Doing a Ctrl+drag gives you 400%.
Using a Velocity envelope gives you 300%.
Do both at the same time for 1200%.
If that’s not enough, render and repeat or look into Time Bandit, a part of Veggie Toolkit. -

Since you asked though, for a 2 hr. DVD, my bitrate calculator says:
CBR: 4,576,000
VBR: 8,008/4,576,000/2,744,000BTW, I’ve got it set to a 5% safety margin instead of the default 1% which is why my numbers are a bit lower than Edward’s.

Charles, it depends on how good the master was.
For example, a 2-hr. play that I shot last year (in 16:9 mode) on a Sony DSR-500 (broadcast-grade DVCAM unit) looked great on a 46″ LCD. -
John, what B&H means by “a previous professional version of Vegas” is that it has to be Vegas 6, not Vegas Movie Studio.
BTW, Vegas 6 never had the “Pro” designation.
