Deselect “Stop Capture on Dropped Frames” is another possibility. -
Meagan, with all due respect, have you read the manual yet?
The answers to these questions are in there starting at Chapter 20 (Saving, Rendering and printing Projects) and are explained pretty well.When you “save” (File – Save) a project, all you’re doing is saving the project file which is the instructions to what you did as far as editing, graphics, etc.
“Rendering” (File – Render As) is the creation of your project in the file format of your choice.
Vegas gives you a lot of options here and which one you choose is dependent on your needs.Check Edward Troxel’s newsletters for a variety of instructions on different things in both Vegas and DVD Architect.

I had to go back to the version 3 manual to find out.
On p. 115 it says “This feature (subtitles) is available only in the full version of DVD Architect software.

You definitely don’t need this one.
Vegas Pro 1.0b was the very first version of Vegas and was an audio-only app. -

Try this as an experiment.
Drop the “Linear Black to Transparent” grad on the timeline over top of a picture or video clip.
Click the 2 circle and change the “Aspect Ratio Angle” to 90.
Adjust the “Distance” as desired (0.0 for a start).
Click the 1 circle and adjust the colour as desired.
When you get it the way you want, save it as a preset. -
Sounds like your small renders were actually DV-AVI format.
DV-AVI is approx. 13.5 GB/hr. while uncompressed is approx. 100 GB/hr. -
Open the Pan/Crop window on the graphic, right-click and select “Match Output Aspect”.
That should do it. -
Try doing a “Match Output Aspect” (in the Pan/Crop window) on everything and see if it helps.

Set your project properties to the desired output format size, drop an SD clip on it, render it out and see if it’s acceptable to you.
