[John Rofrano] “So… I feel the need to point out that if you simply make a copy of the file and change the .mp4 extensions to .mov the QuickTime player (and Mac users) will be none the wiser. It all works fine. I appreciate you trying to do it the “right way” by re-wrapping the file but it really isn’t necessary. ;-)”

John is right. I did this for a few clients last fall that insisted on having .mov files and no one questioned the submitted files 🙂

  • Matt, with all due respect, for your very first post on here, you’re not off to a good start.
This topic (custom render template) has been discussed on here numerous times.
After you pick the format you want (in this case AVI), click the Custom button and then make the necessary changes in the window that comes up.
Be sure to save it so that it will come up for future use.

Bob, you need to go one level higher than your BPAV folder.
Here are two examples from cards for footage I shot yesterday on my JVC HM-750.
The one on the left is browsing the card directly while the other is after copying the contents of the card to an external hard drive. In both cases, I had to go one folder level higher to get OK to light up.

Did you copy the entire BPAV folder and all its contents to your hard drive?

Use the “Character Map” option found in System Tools and do a copy/paste of the desired symbol into the Vegas titler.
Depending on the font selected, there are a wide range of arrows and circles to choose from.

I’ve got a Bella keyboard but rarely use any of it’s features.
IMO, you’d be much better off with a Contour Shuttle Pro

Are you using the firewire port for this?

  • Murph, it makes no sense that the camera is seen but not the deck.
At this point, all I can suggest is to power everything down, plug your computer into your deck, turn the deck on and then turn the computer on.

Yes those two formats are the same (different PAR, that’s all).
How big are the JPG images (in pixels) that you’re using?
    What are your computer’s specs?
Can you upload the short video clips and images (along with a description of what kind of move you’re attempting) to a site such as Dropbox and give us the link to try them and see if we get the same problem?
If you don’t have Dropbox, use the link below and we each get an extra 500 MB. of space.

Rich, do your project properties match your video events?
