    Do these 2 commands:

file >> print >> setup under general) >> tiling >> tile full pages

    view >> show page tiling

Now the option when saving as PDF for multipage will work

    Try view >> show edges

Watch you appearance palette tell us what happens when you try to select. Can you delete the shapes?

If this does not solve you problem, please elaborate in detail on what exactly is wrong.

    Try

    1) Run Disk Utility (or wahtever it is called nowadays in applications/utilities I believe – I don’t mac that much anymore) and repair permissions. Sounds like the OSX is not allowing you to write over files during the update process, and the UNIX style permisisons get corrupted often almsot always something gets fixed.

    2) reset your prefs by booting phothsop and immediately afterwards holding down Shift Ctrl option

    3) Once fixed, go under help and turn off auto updates, casues more problems than it fixes automatically, and you can always do this manually.

    4) Cutting down on coffee and some ginger tea will help the breath problem – just kidding 🙂

April 18, 2007 at 3:22 pm in reply to: mask linking smart objects in CS2?

Layer >> Layer mask >> Link is greyed out with smart objects, so you cannot do this the normal way.

You can though make a new group and assign a layer mask to the group and put your smart object in the group. Just move the group not the layer and you will get the result you need.

  • Thanks for the follow up and letting us know, always interested in what solves a graphics problem.

Is Kovboy Eastern European for Cowboy? I know in Polish it would be Kowboy.

  • Your illustrator preferences may have gotten corrupted. Try resetting them.

Try doing a ctrl Y in illustrator to see if the paths are there in outline view. You may have a setting in CAD to change, to fix this. Also try a very simple CAD drawing to see if you can get a simple shape to convert.

April 16, 2007 at 2:00 pm in reply to: Photoshop 7 Duotone files import into Illustrator 9

Ilustrator CS2 is only able to place the .eps, since it cannot place a .psd when it is duotone.

Look into updating your software, Illustrator 9 was not one of my least favorite as it crashed often or had printing problems with transparency.

You should be able to place a grayscale and colroize it. Test to make sure it seperates accurately, as it has been a while since I colorized a tif.

That is an rgb only filter. Make sure your image is not cmyk or 16 bit.
