this happened to us a couple years ago – we wound up buying the “re-shoot” plug-in from southwest airlines!

aloing the same lines, in the course of sending out review copies, one guy always says his dvd is choppy, freezes, etc – but no one else has this problem – I of course can’t say “Sounds like your computer is the problem” because the response is always “This is a fairly new computer, and my other dvd’s don’t do this.”
We seem to have some playback issues with DVD-R discs especially in windows media player – can’t please everyone.

have not seen it, but questioning Woody Allen’s motivations is questionable – he clearly does things his own way. I believe he shot this in the UK in order to get away from the American studio system – so he’s no doubt breaking every convention he can.
Pick up “After the Shooting…the Cutting Begins”. It is the memoirs of a film editor who saved Woody Allen’s first film from disaster, among other notable directors’ first films.

anyone know about the slidey-bar in software dvd playback. Sometimes you can manually move the slider bar, sometimes you are limited to chapter only next/back navigation.

How about something which is in fact a basic function of Windows:
In the bin, you should be able to hit a letter or number, and be taken to the first item in the bin beginning with that character. For example, let’s say I have 100 files in the bin, with various names. I know I need a file named house.avi – I should be able to select the bin window, and type “h” and be at least taken to the h’s. Am I missing this function?

Based upon the negative feedback on 2.0, I hesitate to spend the money, although many of the new features do sound good.

My paradigm for separate stereo tracks linked to the video is Media 100 – in there, if you capture video with stereo audio, you can assign during capture the panning and timeline track assignment of each audio track –

and then between the bin and the timeline, you can designate which audio track in the clip will go to which audio track on the timeline

then on the timeline you can adjust the level of each audio track or both together, and adjust the panning of each track – so you can pan the left track to the right and vice versa, or pan to the middle – so each “mono” track of the stereo pair is not limited to the original L-R position.

You can also unlink the tracks, make adjustments individually, and then re-link them.

Any of this translate to PPro 2.0?

Wow – please, stick to the topics. E-mail each other directly if you want to be critical of each other – this forum is for sharing kmowledge.

So let me get this straight, if you have nested sequences, unless you trim the sequences to only the material you want to use, the project trimmer retains the entire nested sequences (as it does every sequence.)

What if you make a sub-clip out of your selects from the nested sequences before putting them into the edit you are buidling. Can you even do that? If so, then can you delete the original nested sequence without ruining the subclips? Doesn’t sound very promising.
