Sean’s given you a good solution, but just so’s we can be well rounded in our explanations on the COW:

AE has a keyframe assistant called exponential scale that would probably also help you. Just select your two scale keyframes and right-click (or do your mac equivilant) and find the exponential scale.

Basic 3d is probably easier, but nevermind.

  • I would use Fractal Noise and Trapcode’s Shine to create the backlight and Zaxwerks Invigorator (however they spell it, I can’t be bothered to check) for the 3d thingies.

How good it looks depends upon how good your tweaking is.

In foam? You could, yes. That would quite possibly work.

C4d is probably gonna be better though, ’cause you can do 3d camera moves.

Get ParticleIllusion, Particular or use one of the included particle effects. Tweak the parameters.

I haven’t experience with aught but AE. But I can tell you that the Total Training DVDs are SO worth it, they’ll make you a genius. Pay scale will depend on where you live. England is much different from the US in my experience. And where you live in the particular country of your residence makes a huge difference too.

Since AE comes with keylight it’s a much better compositor. It’s also one of the best motion graphics tools there are. You just need to get a 3d app like C4D to round out your arsenal.

I’m sure there are others who will have more informed views than mine, particularly as regards Shake, etc. Let them come!

I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking here.

You could write your text, make it move, then precompose it.

Apply the time effect, “echo” to your precomp. Play with echo’s settings.

    Is that what you’re after?
