Dude, this is, like, the third time you’ve posted this in two days.

If you’re looking for how the footage blends in a transparent manner over the footage underneath (ie. the footage blending on the guy) it’s done by lowering the layer’s opacity and/or using different blend modes.

Select your layer, press “t” on your keyboard. And then lower that number from 100 to something less. If that’s not exactly what you were hoping for then do that in conjuction with a different blending mode like multiply, screen, darken, or lighten.

It’s just a matter of experimenting with different recipes for different pieces of footage.

It would be very easy to make these fire trails in the air with ParticleIllusion.

Twixtor is an excellent plug-in for this purpose. – True.

AE will be much better than Premeire at this. I’ve had surprisingly good results with even poorly shot footage. You just need the right recipe.
Time Remapping in AE is great, not just for slow motion, but having fluidity of time. (That’s not proper grammer…but I know what I mean.)

There are many good tutorials on the Cow for After Effects, but if you’re looking for an introduction you would be hard pressed to find anything better than Total Training’s AE DVDs, they’re absolutely fantastic and more than worth the cost.

A puff of dust (there are emitters set up to do this that you can freely download from Wondertouch for ParticleIllusion) will help sell the effect that the suite has landed. Sound effects really help too.
Add a touch of rotation when they bounce. And when they bounce make them move a bit sideways.

In fact you could go drop a couch now and film it, so you can see how it moves in real life! Then you wouldn’t even need to recreate it in AE.
