Sorry if this is a really stupid question; can I use any of these 3D models in AE Pro 6.5 without a 3D app?

You at least need the Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator plugin, but you don’t have to have a full 3D app like 3d Studio Max. Not sure since I have the Pro version but, I think the “Classic” version of the Invig plugin is bundled with AE so you might want to check your AE install disc.

You need the pro version of Invigerator to load 3d models.

Thanks, I’ve managed to import .3DS models – pretty cool! But when I experimented with a model of the USA as flat blocks I couldn’t ‘ungroup’ the blocks. I want to be able to select the top face and change its properties, bevel etc. Is this usual with 3D models? Or is it down to how the modeller made this particular model?
