You know what’s really cool about black lights and yellow highlighting pens?

You can colour on yourself with the yellow highlighter and it blends into your skin; hardly noticable. Walk into a blacklight room and suddenly POW your skin turns black except where the pen is and it GLOWS MIGHTILY.

I remember doing this when I was about 19 with about 10 other guys all packed into a tiny dorm room in nothing but our shorts drawing on each other…

Whenever I’ve had to do roto work I’ve used AE by itself. I have very little experience, even with this.

However there was just recently a script here on the COW that might help you: https://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_read_post.cgi?forumid=2&postid=866624&pview=t#head Try it and see how it works.

Another way is to make your bridge footage a 3d layer and shine lights at it.

If the layer’s blending mode is set to dissolve you only notice the difference in the areas not 100% opaque.
I agree, this looks as though your layer’s blending mode is dissolve. Set it back to normal and you should be fine.

Or you could tell your client that, “It’s the ‘look’ of the project.”

Keylight (ships with AE 6.5) works great. Even with bad lighting and a poor screen I’ve gotten excellent results with very little work.

Do you mean an ambient light? Add a new light and change its type to “Ambient.”

What version of AE do you have? Version 6.5 not only comes with great ways to animate your text, but also loads of preset animations you can apply to your text.

I know it can do what you want.
