There’s a stretch column that you can reveal in your timeline that should show you which ones have been time stretched. I’m not sure why Adobe admonishes you not to frame blend all the things though.

It doesn’t really matter which you parent to which, I suppose. But if you’re doing camera movement instead of moving the images, you don’t need to do any parenting.
As for the black bars, yes, you’ll see the edges of your images if they’re not large enough to fit in the screen. Once an image gets too small, it should be inside another image to obscure that.– The Great Szalam

Would a regular displacement map not work with gradients/mosaic too? I guess it wouldn’t really have that duplication would it…

DUIK does spring stuff too, but I’m not sure if it has more controls.
