There is no way a video tripod manufacture can operate like a auto parts dealer. How many Hondas are in your town vs, that tripod or any professional tripod.
But I understand your pain, it is frustrating but we work in such a low volume business which means we pay through the noise for service and parts.

There is no such thing as insider info, just rumors. Until the manufacture announces something we have no real idea what is going to happen.
The AF100 is the camera that addresses most of the short comings of DSLR but you jump to a 5K price tag.

Try to be clear, when you shoot 24pN there is not more compression but the 100Mbps is based on 60 frames, so the 24pN will actually be 40Mbps but each frame is getting the same bitrate.
So 100Mbps / 60 frames gives you an average of 1.6Mb for each frame, so then 24 frames X 1.6 Mbpf = 40 Mbps.
So the quality of each frame should be the same whether you shoot in 60 or 24 fps.
There is nowheres near the compression of HDV going on.

I still recommend disabling the clip above, that way you can make a change to something and using the visibility button causes a video preview build each time that can take a few to several seconds.

that is what will always happen. If you just disable the clip on V2 (Ctrl-b) you will just have to rerender that part of the video.

A lot of us canon users are picking up old Nikon Lenses, you can get inexpensive mount adapters and if you look for Nikon E-series you can get them in great condition for about $50/lens. These are great lenses for the money. They were looked down upon when built because they have a little plastic in them but they are built better that most lenses today. I have the 28, 50 and 135, all are super sharp.
Get an adapter for each lens for easy of use.

Do you have a DV camera? if so you can normally use them to do the conversion.
