You can do a “Make Offline” within the Bin in FCP then choose move to trash or remove from disk. This will throw away the clip. The move to trash takes 2 steps to get off your hard drive but that is a level of safety just in case you delete the wrong clip.

If you still have the 5 GB files just encode the audio as an ac4 file in compressor and that with the m2v video file will fit just fine.

In FCP6 import is now Log and Transfer.
Does the P2 card show up in Finder/

There are Firewire hubs but you are still sharing the band width. Only solution is a huge RAID system that you copy and keep everything on. No free ride here, you either deal with the mess, hook and unhook as needed or get a large RAID.
BUT… if your firewire drives are SATA drives you could buy a multi-bay enclosure and an eSata Card and you could get up to 20 drives that are all connected and this would get you much better performance. But you are looking at about $1500-2500 to do this.

One thing that I would recommend putting into your workflow is to convert all the DJ clips to the same settings as your seq/footage. You can do it in the background with Compressor and then bring in those clips. That way every time you make a change to the sequence where those clips are they want have to be rendered. I bet they are also the wrong (different frame rate).
Did you change the scratch disc settings?

What format are your clips, what type of HD raid do you have them on.
There are two live actions when using multiclip, Switch To and Cut To. Switch will give you Program Feed back and place markers as you play and switch the timeline. Once you stop playback everything is gone. This is the way it is designed to be, no idea why anyone would want this, guess it is a practice run. Normally it is set to do this when you hit 1, 2, 3, 4 on the key pad.
Cut To does what most people want, the switching sticks at stop. Normally it is set to the combo Command 1, 2, 3, 4 on the key pad.

Hopefully this is a quick fix. In the preferences in Import P2, deselect the remove duplicate frames and see if that works.
Also the half filled circle normally means that you set an In and/or Out point on that clip, it has been partially ingested.

To prevent TC breaks the camera needs to be set on REC REGEN and as long as you are just stopping and starting without rewinding and forwarding you should not have TC Breaks. You get your breaks when the camera is set to FREE RUN.
One thing to try is to make the effected clips off line and then recapture them, but change the TC of the In to 3 seconds later. (if that works and you miss something you need turn 1 or 2 seconds later)

That is simple a warning that something is not fast enough for playback and the dropped frames has caused playback to stop.
First thing to try is Select Unlimited RT. What color are the top stripes of the sequence (above the time scale)
Are these 7200 RPM drives.
It also sounds like you got some other issue going on with the speakers, unless the audio needs rendering, if it does it will beep as it plays back.

I’m at best a semi-technical guy. If I need to know I try to find out but if I don’t need to know the exact why but just the fact that it does and it does work, I’m fine with that. And this is the case here. DVDs need to have 29.97 streams (not 100% as sure on HD material) so when an encoded 24p stream it imported into DVDSP it adds the flags as the stream is truly a 24P stream but it tells the play how to do the pulldown when a dvd player setup cannot handle a true 24P stream but if it can it plays back the stream without the pulldown being added. Roger Anderson has answered a thread that goes into what is happening better than I could or would want to, if you want to do more you can do a search under his name, it was either in this forum or DVDSP.
