Is the timeline in Green/Green mode?

  • Use the FluidMotion preset for creating a progressive frame. Instead of doubling a field which reduces the vertical resolution by 1/2, it creates a full progressive frame from the two fields. This will create a 30p look.

You can apply the FLuidFilm which creates true 24fps with 2:3 pulldown from the 60 fields for a different look which is more akin to film.

One way is to do a full height center crop. This only deals with the horiztonal lines thus does not reduce quality as much as dealing with the vertical.

Yes, 16:9 is a viewer only function in the Avid. When the edit monitor is set to 16:9 (right click in monitor and select 16:9), the viewer scales to 16:9 creating the proper asect ratio. This also keys some effects such as circle wipes and the title tool to create the proper aspect ratio as well.

On second thought – use the source timeline toggle in the timeline and use the standard zoom in tools used for the record side.

There is no zoom in on a source clip – you can always make a subclip of the area and load that.

The player pipeline is clearing its cache and the blue bar is going back to the frame on which the “stop” command was actually applied.

There is work being done to improve this in future versions.
