I’m an FCP editor working on a project in AVID xpress DV.
In FCP I apply a “1-field strobe” to the whole sequnce, so motions are more smooth
and the footage doesn’t look like “raw” video.
(also, when you pause the video with the srobe, it doesn’t flicker on the monitor)
Is there any way to produce this in AVID ?

    cheers

Use the FluidMotion preset for creating a progressive frame. Instead of doubling a field which reduces the vertical resolution by 1/2, it creates a full progressive frame from the two fields. This will create a 30p look.

You can apply the FLuidFilm which creates true 24fps with 2:3 pulldown from the 60 fields for a different look which is more akin to film.

And dont forget. There are two fluid film plugins.

    FLUID FILM – PAL

    FLUID FILM CADENCE – NTSC

The fluid film plugins are only available in Avid Xpress Pro 4.5 and up
