  • I would not trust a ten year old spinning drive over a new SSD. LaCie, for many, have not been as reliable as some other brands. Drive prices are so cheap these days that having a new drive is much cheaper than the consequences of a drive failure

I’ve had this once before and I have a feeling I needed to adjust the anchor point on the Title settings. Just make sure everything in the title setting is also reset. Font sizing and placement is best done with those settings.

The Pyxis can shoot 60 fps at 4k DCI. I like that it records audio when doing higher frame rates unlike some cameras.

I like to capture action at 50 or 60 because it can then be used as slo mo or real time but most of the time I shoot 25 or 24 because that’s what the world watches. I have also been amazed at Topaz AI making slomo at 4x or 8x. Not the same as actually shooting at those rates but remarkably useful when required. To shoot everything at 120 just to get a basic slo mo at 60fps playback is very wasteful of location drive space and it also makes low light shooting harder.

  • You are on the Cut page. It has two views of the timeline, both fixed. It’s by design. If you want to use the Edit page you will find that the timeline can zoom.

I recommend checking some tutorials out that explain the two methodologies used by Resolve to provide a ripple edit timeline similar to Final Cut X (Cut) and the conventional Edit timeline like Pr, Avid and the old Final Cut 7.

I use Topaz AI and I find the ability of the software to both sharpen and de-noise and de-artifact compression very useful. I’ve been cleaning up a six part TV series that was shot 23 years ago on the Sony F1 using HDV codec. It’s certainly impressive enhancement and looks natural.

I’d have to read their specs to answer specifics. If in doubt you should ask them

Prime should have tech specs for loudness and channel assignment published. My subjective experience is Prime is louder than Netflix. Prime probably uses the same SMPTE loudness standard as cinema and international broadcast which are all within +/-1db of LUFs. Netflix is a lower LUFs and they seem to be the outliers in the world of loudness, apart from the internet which is a dogs breakfast.

You really need to pay a sound post production person to take your project and produce a surround mix. You need to understand and be able to monitor 5.1 plus the required deliverables. I sense this is not a task you can and should do given your questions

I can only think you are monitoring the RODE differently to Resolve. A PCM digital signal is identical in both. EQ or other signal processing might change the sound but my guess is you are monitoring the RODE differently to Resolve

More information about how you monitor both the recording and Resolve, plus the codec you use to import in Resolve.

Also when you say ‘cut’ on the rode mixer, I presume you mean record not edit.
