I’m not having any issues with those files from Resolve into VLC on Windows or Linux at 24 or 25fps. Pr can do weird things with variable frame rates? Maybe they have a metadata bug in Pr/ Media Encoder.

It’s not uncommon to find people with spare codes after buying multiple BM products so if you can find a genuine spare, you might be able to buy it for a cheaper price. I have two dongles which I prefer as they are more portable and I have both gifted and sold a few licenses as I am on my fourth BM camera and I also enjoyed the promotion of the Speed Edit panel which came with a license.

I am guessing this is on the Fairlight page. Not sure why one particular timeline is doing that. Might be a bug or just something peculiar about how the timeline default has been stored. try saving the project when that timeline is open and set to the track heights you want and see if that resets things.

A clever solution. Does the app allow for manipulation of raw controls prior to transcode? Also if the edit is then fcpxml’d to Resolve will that workflow act like any other proxy workflow and allow the re-connection the the BRAW originals? In other words, are file name & timecode data preserved so Resolve can reconnect without issues?

Being a CUDA card you do need to have an up to date driver that works with Resolve. You might need to upgrade your Windows 10 software to use an up to date driver. I had an older machine and ran into the same problem. I hadn’t updated Win 10 for a while and the drivers that are Resolve 17 compatible didn’t work on the un updated Win 10 I was running. I was at the point of rebuilding my machine which is what I did with a clean install of Win 10 and no problems.
Sounds like you need to update your OS and driver for Resolve 17 but make sure you have everything backed up before doing anything drastic

Is this codec specific or frame size specific? On all projects or just a particular one? Personally not having this issue but there are so many combinations of hardware and OS that it might be a problem for you and not repeatable for others. Issues like whether your GPU driver is up to date and compatible with your version of Win10. Are you running 10 Pro?

On the edit page you have the waveform turned off. But it should appear on the Fairlight page even when it is off on the Edit page. Your waveforms might have become corrupt. I’m sure there is a way to regenerate the waveforms. Not in front of my machine now but see if you can find that option in the menus

Blackmagic publish minimum specs in the support section of their website and on their forum. Be prepared to spend decent money to run 4k 60fps. I have recently been using a Dell 8 core Ryzen 7 4700 with integrated AMD GPU (512 VRAM), 16 gig RAM.
It just manages 4k BRAW at 25fps. VRAM needs to be a lot more for reliable 4k. You mention 4k 60fps but not codec. The choice of codec makes a big difference to real time performance.

Shotgun microphones are almost omni in the low frequency area so you will still hear the bus. I would check out the DJI Pocket 2 Creator combo. It’s pretty amazing for the price and includes a radio mic which is likely a better option. Auto focus and you can use your smart phone as a viewfinder/ screen. It has a selfie mode, is a stabilizer so works really well hand held. Has a thread for a tripod. My partner got one recently and the features for self Vlogging are impressive as is the image quality. And if the YouTube venture doesn’t develop, you have a cracking good camera system for home movies that fits into your pocket and runs for hours on the rechargeable battery.
Check out Potato Jet. His Youtube channel talks alot about all sorts of cameras including Vlog cameras. he’s reviewed the DJI plus a whole lot more through to higher end gear.
