  • Make sure you have “audio scrubbing” checked in the “view” menu. Shift + S I think.

[Mark Lewis] “which frame size would be best to convert to?”

I’d use 1920×1080 or 1280×720. What are your delivery requirements?

I’d just transcode them both to ProRes and go from there.

[Alex Desrial] “I am just curious why Michael have 7 Kipros where he only has 6 cameras to record from and actually 6 kipro enough for him.”

We used a KiPro for each of the 6 cameras and 1 for the line cut coming from the switcher. Everything worked great.

Hmmmm…. works for me on 7. Have you tried trashing prefs? Did you say you did an upgrade or clean install? If upgrade, that could be your problem.

  • [Shane Ross] “I have the generation BEFORE the SD card implimentation. I too find it stupid. They need to offer a 15″ with SD card, and one for the Express34.”

I also use the same model as Shane and wouldn’t give it up for the new models. Another thing I don’t understand is why Apple didn’t add USB 3.0 support either. At least I can add it to my 15″ because it still has a card slot!

MPEG Streamclip will do it and it’s free. It’s a great app to have in your toolbox.

  • [Duke Bishop] “It seems this issue only occurs with 10-bit captures.”

We previously had an issue with our Kona 3 capturing 10 bit. After much trial and error and help from AJA support, they concluded it was a faulty card and replaced it. The replacement worked fine. The original card would capture 8 bit codecs flawlessly, but would add an insane amount of noise to 10 bit captures. You might just have a defect, who knows? It happens sometimes

[Joey Burnham] “How are you monitoring your work then?”

    Monitor for each deck.
