  • Can’t hear audio while dragging the play head.

Posted by Ian Disalvo on June 30, 2010 at 1:23 am

Recently, my Final Cut will not play back audio while I drag the play head over the time line. I can hear audio when I play it in real time, but when I stop the play head and move it frame by frame there is nothing. Since I am trying to edit to a very specific beat it is making things rather difficult. I just recently updated my operating system to Snow Leopard and I don’t know if that would make any different. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Try this:

Go to your View Menu and make sure Audio Scrubbing is checked.

    Hey Ian,

You might have accidentally pressed shift+S this has disabled audio scrubbing. Got to final cut and go view and click audio scrubbing. If that doesnt work. Shutdown final cut and restart. Sometimes my FCP craps its self and requires a hard reset.

    hope this helps

Make sure you have “audio scrubbing” checked in the “view” menu. Shit + S I think.
