I am shooting an event soon, where I will be using one Sony handycam AVCHD camera, and one Sony Z1

I am going to be doing a Multicam edit so I will need the files from both cameras to be the same codec/frame size etc. but I’m not sure whether I should downgrade the HDV files so that they are the same as the AVCHD files (which are 1440×810) or convert the AVCHD files to match the HDV files..

I edit on final cut 6.0.1

Thanks in advance for any advice

    Mark

I’d just transcode them both to ProRes and go from there.

Yep thats what i’m going to do, but they will still have different frame sizes… which frame size would be best to convert to?
    thanks, James

[Mark Lewis] “which frame size would be best to convert to?”

I’d use 1920×1080 or 1280×720. What are your delivery requirements?
