well
i can speak for the 5D
it now support’s 24,25,30FPS on 1080locking exposure can be done with the “*” button.
changing exposure in record will not be good. and will never be good.
because a SLRlens adjust iris with step’s not smooth like a video lens.grt

hi norman
i hope you did consider some practical issue’s with both camera’s.
remember your record time is limited.
next to that you can get severe aliasing when used on non organic stuff.
focus pulling is hard/different then with “normal” video camera’s.
not even talking about zooming.
although magic lantern can help here.
seeing focus is difficult on the inbuild LCD. so a external monitor is needed. magic lantern edge detect again can help you here.
i hope you in NTSC land because HDMI 25FPS is still not supported.
audio is very limited.don’t get me wrong.
i own one and i love it(although bought for photography)
the camera can give extreme good results but you must know where to use it and how.for your field of view i would say.
visit. https://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/camera-lenses.htmi have my doubts for a studio enviroment. (depends on the kind of program you shoot)
please tell us more

hi gavin
although the cow is a great source for info like this.
if i look on your site i see you already have a very good contact.
named BBC.i understand it’s one of your client’s but they do know a lot!!!
wondering what cable you use. all “normal” HD cable’s do have a foam
dielectric (based on the isolation power of the air in it) i guess this cannot be used in a nautic situation like your’s. the air in the foam has a pressure so i guess the cable will implode in deep sea changing impedance.
what dielectric is used ???
how does it behave on normal height levels. does the performance increase while the rig is lowered???interesting stuff really

hi carly
thanks for letting us know what your setup is.
i never worked with the MX-20 but did a lot of low profile stuff with the MX-50.(same generation big brother of the mx20)
What i know about this mixer is that the Composite decoder’s suck if you can run in your signals in Y/C your picture will look better even if you still use your CVBS output’s. maybe have a look at a encoder that accept Y/C. just give the final encoder less noise / crosscolor /moire to deal with.one hidden secret of the mx-50 and probaly the mx-20 too that you can genlock this mixer with the external key input making it easy to cut between camera’s

Although i have not been working with DVCPRO-HD that much
i say the general role of thumb is keep your generation step’s as low as possible. DVCPRO-HD is the wayto go for yougrt

well you can go as far as you like.
if your family is very rich and money means nothing to you.
buy a snell&wilcox alchemist PH.C but i guess it will not fit your budget 😉the AJA FS-1 sounds like a good solution for you.
or maybe a Folsom ImagePRO HD.if it’s for one job only don’t forget that a local rental company can help you out.
but maybe the best solution for you is patience and good software like Compressor Episode Squeeze and many many more.

hi jon
for the first setup you mentioned in the first post.
did the DVIextender work when you put it straight to the main out.
if so
maybe try to use a gefen DVI detective record the EDID of the BM-DVIextender and put this after programming between the DVI-DA and the CPU.not sure if this work because i have the strong feeling that BM overule the EDID mechanism
BM is doing something special with the Ultrascope and mediaexpress software to address the graphic card. i guess the software is bypassing the driver of the videocard. why i guess simplyfing there program and raising the quality of the output. but at what cost (a lot of incompatibility).
off topic. for SD use with macbooks. if the apple composite adaptor works your BM-DVIextender will work too.
great

hmm
wonder what projector it will be.
as far as i know only Sony and JVC make a projector’s that can project
resolution’s this high.SONY SRXT = 4096 x 2160
JVC ILA = 4096×2400https://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/micro-sxrdsite/cat-projectors/product-SRXT420/
https://www.jvcpro.co.uk/jpe/en/global/product.3129.140.html
i guess more important is how it will be playbacked.
and maybe processed.(Spyder or Encore if it is a multiprojector edgeblended project)also viewing distance is a issue in how far you must go whit your resolution.
