I’ve been using CF (plug-in) in AE & FCS for awhile now and love it. I think I probably use it too much. Its hard not to go to it now when you know how good a shot ‘could’ look. I don’t regret the purchase one bit.
Go to the Media100 website and download the M100 codec. In FCP set your sequence to BM 8 or 10 bit and set the codec to Media100. Your imported M100 clips will play fine. If you want to imoprt an EDL from M100, export (from M100) as CMX3400. Keep in mind an EDL can only handle 4 audio tracks so, you may have to export several EDLs of the same timeline to get all the audio. FCP will read this format complete with transitions.
Install the M100 codec, as Floh stated. Set your sequence in FCP to 8 or 10bit uncompressed and set the codec to M100. The clips will play fine. If you want to add the M100 clips to a sequence with a different codec, load them into Compressor and use the advance format conversion to make them whatever codec you need. Or you could just drop them in your sequence and render on the timeline.
Yes it is. I didn’t have the loss of quality when playing back the P2 footage fullscreen on the powerbook. Or maybe it just wasn’t as perceivable as the animation because it was live action. I’ll have to test that again.
[Ajmetz]“1) What Media100 product came that that count-down sequence for use when mastering? ( it features a grey background, and black circles around the numbers )”
I know version 6 had that. I don’t know before that, I started with 6.
