November 1, 2006 at 1:39 amHi Alex,
One method commonly used to move between Media 100 and other systems is to play the video out of the Media 100 system and capture it using the DeckLink or Multibridge card. Former users of Media 100 systems in this forum might also be able to help you with other ideas and let you know what works well and what doesn’t.

November 1, 2006 at 1:57 amThanks Luke,
I was reading a lot in several Forums, yes Your method may be a solution, but I need to re-edit this material because is not finished.
I was trying to export EDL in M100 but the FinalCut give me an error called operation not allowed.
I am looking to import or recapture the clips.
Thanks
Alex

November 1, 2006 at 8:41 pmI used to edit Media 100 clips on a non-Media 100 mac using a system extension that enabled quicktime to see the m100 codec as M-JPEGa clips…I wonder if it’s still around…(this was YEARS ago)…

November 2, 2006 at 12:35 amThere is not really a good way to do this that I know of and I’ve tried. You can download the Media100 software codec from their website and that will allow you to play and edit your media 100 material in FCP.
But how to get your edited sequences in to FCP? If you try hard enough you will be able to export an EDL that final cut will read. It takes some fooling around. But then how will you relink the media to that sequence? Aside from laboriously linking each shot by hand I don’t have the answer for that.
In the end, the easiest thing to do might be to import the edl and then re-capture all the material… Try exporting different types of EDL, I seem to reacall that M100 offers different flavors. As a test try just one shot until you get it to work.
Anyhow good luck.

November 9, 2006 at 3:37 pmGo to the Media100 website and download the M100 codec. In FCP set your sequence to BM 8 or 10 bit and set the codec to Media100. Your imported M100 clips will play fine. If you want to imoprt an EDL from M100, export (from M100) as CMX3400. Keep in mind an EDL can only handle 4 audio tracks so, you may have to export several EDLs of the same timeline to get all the audio. FCP will read this format complete with transitions.
