I have quite a few media100 files that I need to convert of Final Cut Pro 5. I do not currently have Media100 installed on my new G5, but I do have the media100 files on the hard drive. Does anyone know of a way to import Media100 files into FCP 5?

    Mucho thanks for any help

You could install the Media 100 software codec on your system (can be found in the Media100.com download area) to read your Media 100 files directly in FCP. Unfortunately FCP is not that flexible regarding codec support, so most likely it would be easier and more convenien to edit the clips in e.g. Media 100 Producer that can be installed on a FCP system.

Install the M100 codec, as Floh stated. Set your sequence in FCP to 8 or 10bit uncompressed and set the codec to M100. The clips will play fine. If you want to add the M100 clips to a sequence with a different codec, load them into Compressor and use the advance format conversion to make them whatever codec you need. Or you could just drop them in your sequence and render on the timeline.
