  • I could not agree more. My whole life I have been counting on being a business owner, I just never knew what. Having been involved in Media production now for a while, I want to start a business in the next few years either producing videos, or a photography studio.

I have been reading the Business & Marketing forum whenever I have a second of downtime, and I value the questions I see asked, and the answers/advice given, VERY greatly.

I know that having all of this information in my head, even though its hardly relevant to my current situation, will be invaluable.

Lots of smart people on these boards, I am so appreciative I stumbled across them.

This same problem almost killed me. I ended up having my screen zoomed in when I did the screencap vid (Control + Mousewheel zoom) to get a more clear image.

You need to upgrade your flip4mac from trial version. Then in quicktime you can export it to wmv.

My two cents with AVCHD and fw 5.1.4….

I rented a HMC150 that captures AVCHD onto SDHC cards, and it was not at all efficient using FCP 5.1.4. I determined VoltaicHD was my best bed for transcoding, and it took (estimate) 6x RT to change the .mts files to .mov files with Apple Intermediate codec.

Constant rendering, and lots of time wasted. I was running a imac with 4gb and 2.8 ghz duo core and it did work pretty smoothly though.

After all of my initial research and my experience, I would not consider buying an avchd cam unless I upgraded FCP.

I am monitoring it on my iMac screen, as this is a video for the homepage of a website. Whenever I do an export, I immediately bring it onto my windows machine and make sure it looks ok on that too.

I pretty much figured out the problem though, through enough trial and error! Thanks though, I appreciate the feedback

I wish more people did post on here, I use PS wayyy more than FCP at my work.

Do you have an example of the finished product, I would love to see what you did!

I am not sure where I heard this, but this is what I always work off of when making Slideshows to be presented HD.

Make your canvas twice the size of the resolution you will be outputting the video, at 72dpi

    hope it helps!
