  • Why do you need a jpeg in 300dpi? I assume you are printing it, so why not just export it as a pdf and print it? I have never had any problems doing that

Funny you would ask that… I just decided to upgrade my titling techniques and found an excellent tut on Creative Cow itself.

    https://library.creativecow.net/articles/harrington_richard/photoshop_designing_lower_thirds_1/video-tutorial.php

Providing you have at least SOME understanding of Photoshop, you can get some pretty good results without doing too much work at all.

Just animate the final project with some slide ins, pop ups, fade ins, whatever, and it will look pro without even needing to use motion after effects or live type(gross, most anything you do in livetype looks like it’s from windows movie maker or something)

    Hope that helps!

I highly doubt that one person who can not get their software to work is going to result in a boycott of THE dominant creative software company. They have failed me in any way, or anyone else I know who uses their software for that matter.

If you are so displeased, how about you just don’t buy any more Adobe products yourself, rather than ranting and raving?

    SPOT ON

I just downloaded the trial version of ishowu and it works like a charm. Thanks for the suggestion. Before you guys clued me in, I had even checked out snapz v ishowu before i bought snapz. What a waste of money….

IshowU let me plop it right into fcp without changing anything, and I exported using QT conversion for broadband – high and it is crystal clear.

    Thanks again!

Thanks guys! I will make sure every setting matches up and try again a few more times.

BTW I stumbled upon a few articles claiming I should use QTpro to export the .mov to a .dv – Could this help?

Buying IshowU will be a last resort as I already had the company expense snapz pro for $70, I doubt they will be pleased when I tell them I had them buy me the wrong program…

    Thanks again

February 18, 2009 at 5:04 pm in reply to: macbook pro firewire

I encountered the same problem. I was using a mac book to capture my snowboarding footage from my pana gs350 and had to settle for capturing the footage directly onto my computer (frowned upon) then moving it to my firewire external for editing after I disconnected my camera. I really think that macs should be equipped with multiple firewire ins by now, I mean, cmon! Macs are for production! I just picked up a brand new fully loaded Imac and it has ONE firewire input! PLEASE
