    Hi Micah.

I forgot to mention where to send it.

Email it to matt@zaxwerks.com if it’s, say, 5 Megs or under.
Otherwise, you may have to FTP it to some location on the internet
and then tell me where it is.

Let me know if you have trouble doing either of these two options.

    Hi Micah.

Is there any way you could send me the movie (or send me a link to the movie)?
I’m sure it’s a large file, but I’d be happy to take a look.

June 12, 2007 at 3:47 pm in reply to: Graphic Cards

    Hi Lou.

I’m sure other users can speak better about the performance gains from upgrading graphics cards,
but I personally wouldn’t expect too much of an improvement for the Invigorator.

Make sure you’re using the latest version (v4.1.0):
    https://www.zaxwerks.com/download

You may see gains if you’re using very complex geometry because a better card can usually
draw more polygons faster, but it won’t improve your rendering times if you’re using
the software renderer for your final output.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Thanks.

    Hi Sara.

I’d suggest downloading and installing the 1.1 version from the Zaxwerks web site.
That should solve your problem. There was a bug in version 1.0 that’s been fixed.

    Hi Alex.

You should try renaming or deleting your Prefs file.

    Do this:
    1. Locate the folder where you installed the Invigorator.
    2. Find the file called “Zaxwerks Invigorator Prefs.”
    3. Rename it to “Zaxwerks Invigorator Prefs – Backup.”

Try loading your scene again. Does that help?

    Let us know.

  • Hi James.

Which version of After Effects are you using? Mac or PC?

Can you describe how you’re applying the effect?

We don’t officially support Combustion yet.

    Thanks.

    Hi JezzFush.

It sounds like you don’t have write access to either the Invigorator Pref file or the folder that the Invigorator Prefs file is in.

I would suggest doing the following:
    1. Open the folder where you have the Invigorator installed.
(For AE 7, this is usually /Applications/Adobe After Effects 7.0/Plug-ins)
    2. Click on the folder containing the Invigorator plug-in.
    3. Press Cmd+I (Get Info).
    4. Check your permissions at the bottom of the Info dialog box. Make sure you have “Read & Write” access to the folder.

If that looks correct, find the “Zaxwerks Invigorator Prefs” file in that same folder.
Follow steps 3 and 4 to ensure you can read and write the Prefs file.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Hi FinalOne.

As Jon said, you’re probably getting a PICT file with an alpha channel, but let’s make sure.

Once you’ve opened the file in Photoshop, find the Window menu.
Open the Channels palette (Window >Channels) and notice that there
    is indeed an Alpha channel.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
