A bit off topic, but something the Apple White paper suggests to hide projects, archive, or back them up is to simply move the event and project folder to another drive. Copying them back will retain all the information. The key is that you take THE WHOLE FOLDER the event is in.

Sorry to hear you guys are having problems. FCPX has been rock solid for me. Can you tell us what kind of media you are working with? Frame size, codec, and what your machine is (RAM, graphics card, etc).

I think CNET had their information wrong. Far as everything I’ve read, this feature isn’t on Apple’s radar. Tho the CatDV thing is very interesting!

I’ve watched these and they are amazing. Thanks Denver! You helped me really figure out this color board after coming from Apple Color!

Would love to see something in the future go over some advanced techniques and best practices… or maybe something that deals with how to take flat looking footage and make it look great – just some thoughts!

Pretty sure the function to import a FCP 7 timeline into FCPX will NEVER come. Apple has said this many many times and yet still people are SHOCKED it’s not there!

Yup, thats what I had to do. I had legacy FCP installed on the same drive – so maybe that was it?

Once again the COW saved me from some headaches. Great tip!

Bringing my first commercial edited in FCPX to protools tonight for the mix – did the usual 2pop (made one for each grouping), grouped them into dialog and music, export, presto.

I haven’t tried this exactly, but maybe PluralEyes will help you out (if you still have FCP 7). I know i’ve synced several video clips to a single audio file to that before.
