Surely “find all” does what you want? It opens a new browser window with just the found clips in. Avid has a custom sift function and then show sifted but as far as I know, (correct me if I am wrong somebody) it has no find function for finding clips in a bin.

You can have the button list window open while you work and just type in “select” or “roll” or “toggle” etc. and it will show you a list of buttons.

No you are not talking nonsense! You need to export your finished movie and then convert it to prores. As Shane says, you will need access to FCP 6 or 7 in order to convert to prores.
