Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy OT – Good old Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs is known for being nothing BUT rude, obnoxious and arrogant among many other traits. He has built a culture within Apple that follows along with his model. What you see during his press conferences and product releases are merely a very good acting job. This email exchange is not surprising in the least to me, quite honestly.

The Apple Store and AppleCare Tech Support are two areas where this obnoxious model is not followed to a “T.” There are definitely some obnoxious personnel in the stores though…

    Lol!
Rule # 1 in life: Only write if you are commisioned (= paid to do).
Rule #2: If you are a journalist you get paid per word, so write lots. That way even if the sub-editor junks most of it you still get some sort of pay cheque…
Rule # 3:The sub-editor is paid to read your submission.
Rule #4: If you are writing to a CEO *keep it brief!!@!* He isn’t paid to read your stuff…..

Any CEO isn’t going to thank you for a 456 word email, about 300 words of which are nothing to do with the question that is being asked, but all about the would-be journalist’s life experiences. 🙁

Rule #5: Education is about learning – about life as much as any specific profession.

So: She failed. She deserves to fail – I’m with Steve on this one.

I read the email she sent Mr. Jobs, and wondered why the questions she wanted answered weren’t asked in it… All she really seemed to care about is her idea of how Apple should respond to her questions (not her job to do so) and save her grade. Nothing in it for Apple, that’s for sure.

For all we know, she was asking about corporate secrets.

Yes, a bit dry Mr Jobs, but the student shouldn’t complain because, as student, she had already done more noise than probably will ever do as a professional Journalist.
Complaining that she haven’t got an answer “for one week”!!!.
If she feels like that at the school, I can’t imagine her working in the real world.
However I think she shows skills as future politician.

Thats seems about right. It seems that the only prerequisite to work at the Apple flagship store, is to be a snobby barista that was fired for being rude to the customers.

“Nothing in it for Apple, that’s for sure.”

It’s a PR ‘black eye’, for a company that has an ‘iffy’ customer relations history, in a down economy.
Jobs should have bounced this to a district manager and had it handled. This story has already made it to the regular media, and no one seems to be taking Jobs side. Your only as good as your last quarterly report, and not even Apple is big enough that they should provide the competitors with ammo to use against them.

Hey, go easy on Jobs … look at the amount he gives to charitable causes.
    Matt.
