Or … place you whole vo clip in the timeline. Cut it up using the blade or cntrl v then drag the cut up pieces back into your browser and give them a name.

Are they all from the same reel? Couldn’t you modify the timecode for the whole reel?

Hi. You could try Pando. The free version has a 1Gb limit and the Pro version (circa £20 a year) has a 3Gb limit so you would have to divide up your stuff. Its a “personal P2P”. Pretty good IMHO, if not for this job then in the future maybe.

Hi Tangier. I just had a play at this in after effects because I am infront of my pc. I made a box which moves across the screen at an uneven rate (going backwards at some points). I then output this, re-imported it and stabilised it so that it doesn’t move at all in frame and I then applied a smooth move to it and that seemed to work well. The problem I can see is if this is only part of a longer move. Anyway I would be interested to know how you get on.

How about making a project just the way you like it, saving it as “project template”, then when you want to open a new project open that project and then save as “Ben’s new project”. Works for me. I nearly always open an old project, ditch the stuff I don’t want and then save as “x”. You need to save it before it autosaves of course otherwise you will find your self getting dusty in the attic/vault.

Is a smart slate just one that has the time code from the audio recorder displayed on it? If so you could set the video aux time code so that it matches the visual code on the slate and then sync using that code. Or you could make a multi-clip using that code or merge clips using that code.

Hi, I would … add an analyse motion behaviour to the tv. Choose a couple of high contrast tracking points. One for position and one for scale (and rotation?). Track the tv. Then go to the beginning or end of your clip and add the mask and fill and position them so that they look natural. Then add the match move behaviour to each. Drag the analyse motion data into the source well in the match move behaviour for each. In the match move behaviour choose which track you want for origin (position) and rotation and scale. Then choose which attributes you want to affect (positon and scale and perhaps rotation). Do this for both mask and fill or just copy the match move behaviour from one to the other and you should be good to go. I am not sitting behind motion right now but I think that is pretty much it. If not there are quite a few tutorials out there.
